A statistical engineer who graduated from ENSAE (Senegal), with a Master's degree (Master II) in Quantitative Methods and Modelling in Economics and Finance (UCAD), Oumar Diop has more than 12 years of experience in the design, collection, processing and analysis of survey and census data.

Censuses

A specialist in digital data collection (CAPI), Oumar Diop has contributed to several population and housing censuses:

  • coordination of the mobile application development unit for Senegal's 5th census, RGPH-5 (ANSD, 2023);
  • CAPI expertise and IT advice for The Gambia's census (GBoS / UNFPA, 2023);
  • IT technical advice for Guinea's 4th census, RGPH-4 (INS);
  • support to the post-enumeration survey of Angola's census (UNFPA);
  • application development for Niger's 4th census, RGPH-4 (UNFPA).

This work also includes Malawi's National Census of Agriculture (FAO), and the digital infrastructure of the EDAM5-IS survey and the business census in Djibouti (INSTAD).

Major surveys

Regional data processing consultant for UNICEF's MICS surveys in West and Central Africa (Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, Chad, The Gambia), and support to UNICEF's BMZ endline surveys (Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad, Burkina Faso): listing and survey applications, fieldwork staff training, data transfer monitoring, data editing, quality control and tabulation.

Data platforms

Head of mission for STATINFO on the COMMAGRI platform (RTI International / USAID, Feed the Future Naatal Mbay) for the cereal value chain, and the COMMANGO platform (IFC / World Bank and APIX) for the mango value chain: orchard mapping, digital export certificates and financing requests.

Teaching

Lecturer-researcher at ENSAE from 2014 to 2018 (CSPro, advanced Excel, statistical software).
