A public health doctor specialising in epidemiology, Ibrahima Gaye has more than 13 years of experience designing, coordinating and analysing surveys in public health, nutrition, infectious diseases and programme monitoring and evaluation. His profile combines survey methodology, statistical and econometric analysis, mapping and spatial analysis, and operational management of multi-stakeholder projects.

Head of Studies since 2020, he designs and leads studies in public health, nutrition, child survival, maternal health, water and sanitation, and social inclusion: sampling plans, data collection tools, field protocols and quality control, statistical analysis and reporting. He oversees the training of survey teams in CAPI approaches.

Recent studies: vitamin A supplementation integrated into primary health care (2025), integrated maternal health and child survival campaign (2022, 2024), surveys on malaria, nutrition and adolescent girls' health.

Research and coordination

  • Institut Santé et Développement (ISED), since 2018: survey manager and co-investigator on universal health coverage, COVID-19, malaria, schistosomiasis, nutrition and community health.
  • United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), 2020-2022: coordinator of the Data For Now initiative in Senegal, between ANSD, UNSD and the UN country team.
  • Initiative Prospective Agricole et Rurale (IPAR), since 2016: associate researcher (SDGs, nutrition, local data, mapping).
  • ANSD, 2015-2018: supervisor of the continuous Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS-Continuous).
